2017 Two Heads Open

The Two Heads Open is the state championships for disc golf in Tasmania.  This is traditionally the biggest competition of the year for Poimena Reserve and attracts Tassie’s best players. Two Heads is a ‘major’ on the Australian Disc Golf National Tour, attracting competitors from other states and countries.

This is a two-day tournament played over three rounds of 18 holes, plus finals. Anyone and everyone is welcome to take part. The format is singles stroke-play and competitors play in divisions suited to their playing experience and ability.

There is also a warm up doubles competition on the 3rd March at Poimena.

Hobart Disc Golf Monthly League Days

The monthly League Days are a great way to meet up with other players and play some friendly competition golf.

Anyone and everyone is welcome. Players are grouped randomly and the competition format is one round of 18, with a handicap scoring system. The beauty of the handicap scoring is that anyone can win if they play well. There’s also a league ladder running throughout the year with players gaining points for each event they play.

So, if you’re keen to meet up with other players and enjoy a good social round of golf, with some friendly competition, join in a League Day.

2015 Australian Championships at Poimena

 

The Australian Championships presented by Innova takes place

at Poimena 20-22 November.

This 3-day tournament promises to be a fantastic event for players and spectators.

This is the grand finale to the National Tour and regularly attracts the biggest field of players and the best of Australia’s talent.

Around 90 players will be competing for this coveted title, with almost all states and territories represented. The tournament also welcomes players from overseas, including USA, New Zealand and Finland.

Disc golf tournament in March

It’s tournament time at Poimena! The 7th annual Two Heads Open takes place 14-16 March.

This disc golf competition is open to anyone, regardless of playing experience or ability. All local players are invited and encouraged to come along and take part. Anyone who wants to play just needs to register and pay the tournament entry fee. There are player divisions based on skill level – beginner, advanced, professional. There are also divisions based on age – Junior, over 40s and over 50s.

There is a random doubles competition on Friday and the tournament in earnest begins on Saturday and ends on Sunday. Players have the choice to play all three days, two days, one day or just one round.

This event is well known across the Australian disc golf community and each year attracts players from interstate and often overseas. The 2014 event is no

exception; joining the locals will be players from Western Australia, Queensland, Victoria, NSW and Finland!

It’s a competition played with great spirit and the fun is guaranteed.

Celebrating its 5th year

The 2012 Two Heads Disc Golf Open is taking place at Poimena on 24-25 March.

The tournament promises a fantastic weekend of competition disc golf to players of all ages and abilities.

Competition format

The Two Heads Open is a singles stroke-play tournament, running over two days. There are divisions to suit players of all skill levels and ages, including beginners and juniors.

All players get two rounds of 18-holes on Saturday and one round on Sunday. The climax to the tournament is the 9-hole Mens Open Division Final on Sunday afternoon. In the final, expect to see four of Australia’s leading players

battle it out for the Two Heads Open title.
